If you are looking to upgrade the factory subwoofer in your Honda Civic EX-L or Honda Civic Si with the factory premium system this plastic bracket will match up to the OEM screw points and allow you to install a traditional 8 inch subwoofer in its place. When replacing the OEM subwoofer you want to use a 2 OHM final impedance subwoofer if you are going to use the factory amplifier to power it. If your factory subwoofer is blown or not making noise we recommend testing the subwoofer first. The subwoofer channel of the amplifier in the civic likes to fail and you will end up with a non working subwoofer. The subwoofer its self can be fine but the amplifier is going bad or has failed. The failure of the amplifier is about 50/50 so its hard to know what failed without testing it your self.

Most aftermarket subwoofers will require you to modify the metal of the car in some way. You can use a shallow mount sub or a neo magnet powered sub for the easiest install. The factory subwoofer magnet is only about 3.5 inches deep into the trunk. It also isn’t very wide so that it can easily fit into the factory subwoofer opening. If you have a coupe you are really limited in space because the trunk bars may touch the magnet of the subwoofer after installation.
